Alto Adige DOC Sauvignon Blanc, white wine wine made from a minimum 85% Sauvignon Blanc grown in Alto Adige (Südtirol) in northern Italy (see Alto Adige DOC). It can be made as a ‘passito’ or ‘vendemmia tardiva’ or ‘riserva’. The variety was introduced to Alto Adige from France at the end of the nineteenth century. Today it is primarily grown in Bassa Atesina, Oltradige and Adige Valley at medium-high elevations of up to 600 m (2,999 ft) above sea level.
Vineyard area: 2018 393ha. The area of cultivation is increasing.
