Aisna is an estate winery in Località Sasso al Vento in the Montalcino region of Tuscany, Italy. It was founded in 1998. Its wines are Sant’Antimo Rosso DOC, Rosso di Montalcino DOC and Brunello di Montalcino DOCG.
Contact: Alessandro Rossi. He is the son of Sergio Rossi who arrived in Montalcino in the early 1970s via his (Sergio’s) cousin Giulio Consonno in managing the Altesino and Caparzo estates. Having finished his degree in psychology (University of Padova) in 1996 Alessandro moved to Montalcino. He gained experience from his father Sergio and in 1998 created his own grape growing business (La Gerla di Rossi Alessandro) selling grapes to his father. The latter died in 2011. Alessandro then began making wine with his own grapes from his Aisna estate).
Since 1998 the core business has always been to grow grapes that were sold to Alessandro’s father estate also named La Gerla. In 2012, after the lost of his father, Alessandro decided to start his own production with a small selection of his grapes, under the supervising of one of the “master” Italian winemaker Maurizio Castelli and his professional team. The name “Aisna” in Etruscan (the ancient language of Tuscany) means “Divine”, .
