Verdicchio di Matelica Riserva DOCG is a white wine from Italy’s Le Marche region. The DOCG was created in 2010 and, as its name suggests, is the the Riserva version of Verdicchio di Matelica DOC whose DOC dates to 1995. Both DOC and DOCG Riserva versions come from the same geographic area and are made from the same formula of 85-100% Verdicchio, plus an optional 0-15% white grapes allowed in Le Marche. Yields for Verdicchio di Matelica Riserva DOCG are lower compared to the DOC at 70hl/ha (9.5 tonnes per hectare + 20% extra in favourable years) compared to 90hl/ha for Verdicchio di Matelica DOC.
