ZISOLA MAZEI is a winery in the Noto DOC in Sicily, Italy.

OWNER | Part of the Marchesi Mazzei group of wineries.

VINEYARDS | The vineyards surround the two “baglio” buildings and enjoy a panorama of Noto. There are nearly 50 hectares (123 acres) of land in total of which 21 hectares (52 acres) are vines, mostly Nero d’Avola, plus Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Average altitude of 130 meters above sea level. Western/southwestern exposure. Slopes of between 8% and 10%. Medium texture soils, strongly calcareous. 5,500 vines per hectare (2,226 vines per acre). Bush vines (‘alberello‘).

RED WINES

ROSSO DI NOTO DOC | Nero d’Avola.

ROSSO DI NOTO DOC, DOPPIOZETA | The flagship wine. The name means double zed to highlight the core of the Mazzei name. A blend of roughly 60-65% Nero d’Avola, 25-30% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon.
