Welschriesling is a white wine grape variety. It is grown in Austria, where its home is Burgenland (Giles MacDonogh (1997, p.224).

Synonyms: Riesler.

Wine style: Everyday quality, lemony, firm, its acidity welcome to balance the sweetness of Trockenbeerenauslese. It can also produce its own sweet wines with noble rot.
