VITEVITIS CANTINE Società Cooperativa Agricola was formally created on 01st July 2015 via the union of three Cantine Sociale (social co-operatives) in the province of Vicenza. These are Cantina di Gambellara (founded 1947), Cantina Colli Vicentini di Montecchio Maggiore Maggiore (founded 1955) and Cantina Val Leogra di Malo (founded 1961).
SIZE / Around 2,200 hectares, 1,500 grape growers, estimated annual production of 360,000 quintals of grapes (one quintal = 100kg).
CANTINA GAMBELLARA was the first social co-op in Vicenza and was founded in 1947. SIZE 298 members with around 600ha of vines. WINES Soave, Gambellara, and Durello.
CANTINA COLLI VICENTINI was founded in the early 1950s. 1,200 members with 1,600 hectares of vines. WINES Colli Vicentini DOCG, DOC and IGT wines, both still and sparkling.
CANTINA VAL LEOGRA DI MALO was founded in 1961. Veneto’s smallest wine co-op. There are 65 members with 50 hectares of vines in the Val Leogra (Leogra Valley). The main (only) grape is Durella. Specialises in organic production.
