Vins du Thouarsais come from an area near the French town of Bressuire, not far west of Haut-Poitou in the Deux-Sèvres department in the south of the Anjou region. In 1936 the local winegrowers voted to stick with their own denomination than become part of Anjou.

Wines

Thouarsais Blanc: Mainly Chenin Blanc, plus Chardonnay.

Thouarsais Rouge: Cabernet Franc (‘Breton’), Cabernet Sauvignon.
