Val Bormida (Val Burmia in Valbormidese) is an Alpine-Apennine valley, belonging to the water catchment area of ​​the Bormida river, which develops from the Ligurian Alps, then forwarding into the Ligurian Apennines for a certain stretch of the hinterland of Savona, continuing then in Piedmont (Piemonte) between the hills of the high Monferrato and the high Langhe, up to the Po Valley where the Bormida flows into the Tanaro (east of Alessandria).
