Torgiano DOC was the first DOC in the Umbria region in central Italy, its creation due to Dr Giorgio Lungarotti of the Lungarotti family whose brands included Rubesco and Torre di Giano. The Torgiano DOC covers still wines of all three colours and includes the Torgiano Rosso Riserva DOCG.
