Staffolo is municipality in Ancona province in the Italian region of Le Marche. It lies 22 miles (35km) south-west of the Adriatic sea port city of Ancona. Wines can be made under the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico DOC and Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico DOC Superiore denominations.

Terroir: Staffolo lies on the right or south bank of the Esino river. One of the lower elevations. 250-270 metres maybe. 

Contrade: Named areas in Staffolo of wine-growing significance according to Dr Ian d’Agata (2019, p.316) include Coroncino, Salmagina, Crocefisso, Castellareta, San Francesco, San Lorenzo, San Martino, Santa Caterina.

Tourism: Staffolo itself is surrounded by walls from which a tower rises. The parish church has an altarpiece by a follower of Lorenzo Lotto.

Wine style: Relatively softer rounder Verdicchio wines.
