Serpentaria or Uva Serpe is a red grape variety native to Italy.
Where grown: A extremely ancient variety, it appears to grow in southern Lazio, where it is more commonly called Uva Serpe. In Campania it is used mainly as a blending agent in the wines of the Costa d’Amalfi DOC plus various IGT wines.
Viticulture: Medium sized bunches, with small berries. Vigourous and pest-resistant.
