Schiava Gentile is a red wine grape native to Italy, a member of the Schiava group of winter-hardy but unrelated grape varieties. Due to its small (if winged) bunch it is also known as Schiava Piccola.

Atributes: High quality due to late ripening, low yields and small berries. Schiava Gentile produces red wines and is also noted for perfumed, light bodied, high acid pink wines.

Wine style: Rarely bottled as a 100% varietal. Pale pink-red hue. Typical flavours include redcurrant, sour red cherry, violets, strawberry.
