Sassolini is an organic winery in Panzano-in-Chianti, a locality (‘frazione’) in Greve-in-Chianti, a commune in Tuscany’s Chianti Classico DOCG region. 

Owner: In the same family since the 1600s.

Staff: Paolo Salvi was consulting in 2019.

Vineyards: 10ha of land in total of which 6ha of vines.

Organic certification: 2006 First vintage with full organic certification.

Red wines

Chianti Classico DOCG, Sassolini: 2016 90% Sangiovese, 5% each Canaiolo and Colorino. 12m in botti grandi. Bright fruit with wild fruit flavours, very appealing (Anteprima 2019). | 2018 100% Sangiovese.

Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva, Sassolini: 2015 100% Sangiovese. 18m in botti grandi. Good depth, wild fruit, clear and exuberantly youthful (Anteprima 2019).
