Azienda Agricola Rivetto is located in Serralunga d’Alba in the Piemonte (Piedmont) region of Italy. Red wines are made under the Barbera d’Alba DOCG, Barolo DOCGDolcetto d’Alba DOC and Langhe Nebbiolo DOC.

Owner: Enrico Rivetto. 1998 was his first vintage when he finished school. From 2009 Enrico began working to organic criteria and from 2015 he incorporated Biodynamic practices.

Vineyards: In Barolo, Serralunga d’Alba.

Organic certification: 2016 First vintage with full organic certification.

Barbera d’Alba DOCG, Nemes: 100% Barbera. Aged in 30hl Slavonian oak. The old Barbera vines ripen evenly, young vines are a bit more erractic,’ (Visit 17th April 2017).

Barbera d’Alba DOCG, Loirano Soprano: 100% Barbera. From Sino. 3,000m2. West-facing. Sandy-calcareous with bluish marl. Higher part of the hill (Zio Nando made from lower part or for rejected lots of Loirano Soprano). Aged in barrel. | Not made very year.

Made like a Barolo. 2.5 years of ageing. Lovely weight and a twist of licorice, also quite salty, lovely end (Visit 17th April 2017). | 2014 Crisp, quite primary, lovely sweet fruit with some bitterness, fluid, well made (Visit 17th April 2017).

 

Barbera d’Alba DOCG, Zio Nando: Strong market for this wine in Switzerland (Visit 17th April 2017). 100% Barbera, from Sinio. 365 metres. Sandy calcereous, good level of magnesium. 18m in 30hl Slavonian oak vats and use French barrels. ’10-12K normally. (Visit 17th April 2017). 2014 4,800 bottles. (10% 2013 in this). 14%. Tough year. 18m in botti (does use a percentage of French oak in other vineyards). Tight tannins, but nice fruit, good acidity, clean colour, clean fruit, a bit of dust but a very good effort seeing as not much sun. Licorice at the winery on Monday 17th April 2017.
