Riesling-Sylvaner is the name used in Austria for the white Riesling x Sylvaner crossing known in its German birthplace as Müller-Thurgau. It is grown in Austria as elsewhere for its potentially high sugars rather than for its bland flavour.

Vineyard area: 9% of the Austrian vineyard, the country’s second most planted vine (Giles MacDonogh (1992, p.34).
