Provence Rosé AOCAndrew Jefford (Decanter, 2017) says ‘early-picked Provence Rosé means lower alcohol, but less developed fruit flavours and higher acidity which is not necessarily welcome for this style since it ‘brings hard edges’, adding that ‘underdeveloped fruit can have a bitter edge down here. Great Provence rosé is not a crisp wine. It is subtle, soft, creamy and gently expressive: that’s what lends it its magnificent drinkability.’
