Pertimali is an estate winery in Montalcino in Tuscany, Italy. It produces Rosso di Montalcino DOC and Brunello di Montalcino DOCG.

Owner: Livio Sassetti and his sons Lucio and Lorenzo (an oenologist).

Background | The Sassetti family initially made wine from their land in Sant’Angelo in Colle. Livio Sassetti sold this land in the early 1970s, and bought land on the Montosoli hill just northwest of Montalcino itself.

Estate vineyards: 14ha of land on Montosoli of which 12ha are vines. The Sangiovese here is said to be a biotype.

Winemaking: Red wines ferment in stainless steel.

Rosso di Montalcino DOC, Angelo Sassetti2002 Bought in Montalcino on 23rd December 2004 for €7.90. Slightly fizzy, a bit green and light but some clean, pleasant fruit too when tasted with Marcel on Christmas Day 2004 at Argiano.

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Pertimali:

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva, Pertimali2007 Animal and leather aromas, seems dark in colour and there seem to be herbaceous Cabernet notes, drying out. 14.5 Points. Bronze at DWWA 30th April 2013.
