Negrara Trentina, vigorous, productive red grape variety found in Italy, the most commonly found of the Negrara group of varieties which are related in name only. DNA profiling revealed a parent–offspring relationship with Enantio (Vouillamoz, 2015).

Where grown | Trentino, Alto Adige and Veneto.

In the vineyard | Negrara Trentino is easy to spot in the vineyard due to its pentagonal leaf, and large-sized, compact, five-lobed bunch with large berries. The compact bunch makes it prone to botrytis. Negrara Trentino is very sensitive to peronospera (downy mildew), less so to powdery mildew (oidium).

Wine style | Medium dark red colour. Grapey, herbal, red currant flavours. Bright, fresh mouthfeel. Light sour red fruit. Underbrush notes. Appealing light to medium-bodied, low alcohol high-acid wine.
