Decanter – Tuscan Greats Masterclass 2020

Event: Italy Fine Wine Encounter. Venue: The Landmark Hotel, London, 16th May 2020 1.30pm – 3pm. A 90-minute tutorial tasting of 10 wines to an audience of up to 80 Decanter consumers.

Speaker: Monty Waldin, wine writer, winemaker and Decanter World Wine Awards Regional Chair for Tuscany. He says ‘The Tuscan Greats Masterclass will capture the essence of Tuscan wine-growing, its traditions, innovations and diversities. From the iconic Super Tuscan Ornellaia to a range of reds made from Italy’s most highly regarded red grape, Sangiovese. These include avant-garde Avignonesi’s single site Nobile di Montepulciano, four Brunellos whose clear differences demonstrate there is no single Montalcino matrix, hand made wines from two outstanding and contrasting micro-terroirs in Chianti Rufina and Chianti Classico, plus two whites: a salty San Gimignano Vernaccia as a starter, and a rare ‘meditation’ wine, a classic Vinsanto from near Florence to finish.’
