Montepulciano grape, Le Marche | ‘Most important red variety of the Le Marche region, used to make DOC Rosso Cònero and DOCG Cònero near Ancona, and DOC Offida Rosso and Rosso Piceno near Ascoli Piceno,’ says Ian d’Agata (2014, p347). ‘In the Cònero region in the Marche the Montepulciano ages well with oak–this is not always the case for this region or style,’ Ian D’Agata said at Collisioni in the Marche Friday 01st Sept 2017.
