Background | 1988 Renzo Bolli, who was from Umbria, bought the estate as a retirement project with his Irish wife Bernadette. Bolli’s previous a career was in computing. | 1998 After Renzo died in March 1998 his daughter Jacqueline and her husband, Daniel, took over. They employed Stefano Chioccioli as consultant. | 2017 In October 2017 Jacqueline sold Montecalvi to Jim Drake, a London-based Australian who is a specialist in international trade arbitration. He is also co-owner of the Collalto winery in the Adelaide Hills, Australia.
