Non-wine crops in Montalcino: Guelfo Magrini (2003, p.23) says the main non-wine crops in Montalcino are ones which are sowable (‘seminativo’), pastures and other crops (orchards, mainly plums, especially in the Ombrone valley) with 36% of Montalcino’s cultivatable area, plus olives (8%), and wine (11%), of which 55% is enrolled in the Brunello registry.
