Martha Stoumen | Winemaker with her own brand in her native northern California. Her undergraduate degree consisted of studying traditional agricultural systems, and the Italian language. After graduation she went to work on a farm-vineyard in Tuscany. This was followed by a Master’s at UC Davis during which she also apprenticed under Reinhard Löwenstein (Heymann-Löwenstein, Mosel), Jordan Fiorentini (Chalk Hill, California), Chris Brockway (Broc Cellars, California), Clive Dougall (Seresin, Marlborough), Didier Barral (Léon Barral, Faugères, France), and Giusto Occhipinti (COS, Sicily).
Vineyards | Stoumen owns no vineyards (as far as I am aware, late 2019). The grapes come from vineyards she farms herself or from grape growers. Her main focus is Carignan, Zinfandel, and Nero d’Avola.
