Fattoria Mantellassi is an estate in Località Banditaccia in Magliano in Toscana, Grosseto province in south-west coastal Tuscany, Italy. It makes Morellino di Scansano DOCG red wines. It was bought by the Mantellassi family in the 1960s and they remain its owners today. After Ezio Mantellassi passed away, his two sons, Aleardo [married to Silvana] and Giuseppe took over.
Vineyards: The estate comprises 120 hectares (296 acres) of land. There were originally 20 hectares (74 acres) of vines plus cows (until the late 1980s) and sheep (until the mid-1990s) but the focus is now on vines, of which there are 60 hectares (150 acres). The main variety is Sangiovese. The soils are stony with large boulders.

Morellino di Scansano DOCG Riserva, Le Sentinelle: Sangiovese plus small amounts of Alicante (Grenache Noir), grown in their highest vineyards (terreno tufaceo calcareo) in Magliano in Toscana. Barrel aged. | 1997 85% Morellino (Sangiovese), 15% Alicante (Grenache Noir). Lots of new oak but lots of very ripe, refreshing black fruit with an appealing bitter twist in 2002 (with Laure 23rd August 2002, Burghley Road). | 1999 85% Morellino, 15% Alicante). | 2010 Bottled.
Morellino di Scansano DOCG Riserva, San Giuseppe: 2003 85% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, Malvasia Nera and Canaiolo Nero. The Cabernet Sauvignon dominates, a suspicion of green tannin but overall clean and smooth (Argiano, 03 March 2005).
