Malvasia di Cagliari DOC is a white wine made from the Malvasia Sarda grape grown mainly in the province of Cagliari, as well as in several communes in Oristano province on the Italian island of Sardinia (Sardegna’). See Sardinia south, Cagliari’s Campidano and Sulcis. The DOC was granted in 1972.

Wine style: The wine is golden to amber coloured, has almondy flavours, and works best as a dry aperitif or ‘secco’ (Burton Anderson:  990, p.294). Secco is a dry style, Dolce is sweet, and Liquoroso is fortified and also comes in ‘secco’, ‘dolce’, ‘naturale’ and ‘riserva’ forms.
