Krems | Town and district in the Kremstal region in the federal state of Niederösterreich (Lower Austria) in Austria, 43 miles (70km) west of the capital city of Vienna. Krems, or Krems an der Donau to give it its full name, is noted for its fine vineyard sites facing the Danube (Donau) river, and is linked by the smaller valley of the river Kamp to its northern neighbour, Langenlois (Hugh Johnson 2003, p.418).
