Il Poderino is an organic estate whose farmhouse is located in Monteriggioni, on the border with Castellina in Chianti in the Chianti Classico DOCG region of Tuscany. The winery and vineyards are mainly located in Castellina.

Owner: Elena Barucci. Fifth generation. The estate dates from 1860. A mixed farm historically: olive oil, cattle and agricultural seeds. Plus wine for home consumption. From 2010 the first wines of the modern era were released. Around 12-15,000 bottles. Filippo Mazzorana consults.

Vineyards: A stone’s throw from Castello di Fonterutoli.

Chianti Classico DOCG, Il Poderino, Bellostento: 2014 100% Sangiovese. | 2015 100% Sangiovese. Bright and tangy (Anteprima, 2020).

Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva, Il Poderino, Bellostento2011 100% Sangiovese. | 2017 Cabernet, Sangiovese, Merlot.

Toscana Rosso, 11 Marzo: The previous oenologist was let go when Elena asked him which wine he preferred of two he had to taste blind (one he had made one and the other a blend she created), and he (unwittingly) chose her blend over his. | 2011 50% each Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
