I Sodi is an estate winery in Monti in Chianti in Gaiole in Chianti in Siena (SI) province in the Chianti Classico region of Tuscany (‘Toscana’), Italy. As well as Chianti Classico it produces Toscana Rosso IGP reds plus a Vin Santo del Chianti Classico.

Owner: The Casini brothers, Danilo and Franco and Franco’s son, Andrea Casini.

Staff: Winemaking consultant: Marco Bernabei, who succeeded his father Franco.

Vineyards: Single site with 12 hectares (29.6 acres) of vines. 400 metres (1,312 feet). Galestro and alberese soils.

Polyculture: 3 hectares (7.4 acres) of olives.

Certification: 2019 First vintage with full organic certification.

Chianti Classico DOCG, I Sodi2015 93% Sangiovese, 7% Canaiolo. Interesting mix of rich (smoky, barrel aged) fruit but light-texture (Anteprima 2018). | 2018 93% Sangiovese, 7% Canaiolo. Primary, modernist (Anteprima 2019).

Chianti Classico  DOCG Riserva, I Sodi2009 95% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo. | 2017 95% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo

2010 95% Sangiovese, 5% other grapes. Hint of burnt rubber on nose, broad red wine with plenty of texture and denseness (Commended at DWWA 29th April 2013). | 2014 95% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo. Well made lighter style (Anteprima February 2018). | 2015 95% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo Nero. 14.5% alc. 1,2g/l residual sugar. 24 day ferment in temperature controlled stainless steel. MLF in oak. | 2016 95% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo.
