Garda DOC dates from 1996. Named after Lake Garda (Lago di Garda) the DOC covers parts of the Lombardy (Lombardia) and Veneto regions.

Garda AOC wines: A wide range of red, rosé and white wines, often varietally named, are permitted from the following varieties: Barbera (r), Cabernet (r), Cabernet Franc (r), Cabernet Sauvignon (r), Chardonnay (w), Cortese (w), Corvina (r), Garganega (w), Marzemino (r), Merlot (r), Pinot Bianco (w), Pinot Grigio (w), Pinot Nero (r), Riesling (w), Riesling italico (w), Sauvignon (w), Tai (limited to Verona province).
