All hill slopes, some north east facing. 350-420 metres. Medio impasto. River stones. Rootstocks: 1103 Paulsen. In 2015 there were around 10ha of vines plus around 8ha of rented vines. | 2019 The farm covers an area of 17 hectares, 9 of which are planted with vineyards. Sangiovese and Colorino del Valdarno

Olives | Milled at a nearby frantoio.

Roosters | In 2005 they were working with the guy from Massanera to produce an authentic black rooster (maybe Livorno hens, not sure).

Winemaking | Some wooden vats; cement and steel.

Red wines

Chianti Classico DOCG, Poggiopiano | 2002 100% Sangiovese. 50% aged in 2 and 3 year old barrels. Not bad, probably some 2003 press wine in this, bit a coffee, and honey too and not entirely typical of the year (Visit 2005).

 2016 100% Sangiovese. | 2017 100% Sangiovese. Plump, well made (Anteprima 2020).

Chianti Classico DOCG, La Tradizione | 2016 100% Sangiovese.

Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva | Alessandro Bartoli told me (Visit, 2005) he does not believe in Riserva.

Rosso di Sera, Toscana Rosso IGT | 2001 90% Sangiovese and Colorino del Valdarno. Best selection, 100% new oak for 12 months. Black fruit underneath excess toasty oak. | 2013 90% Sangiovese, 10% Colorino del Valdarno.

M’Ama Non M’Ama, Toscana Rosso | 2004 90% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot. From tank, decent fresh dark berry. Luca D’Attoma supervised fermentation, Attilio Pagli did the rest. A little bit green and sherbet-like (Visit, 2005) 60,000 bottles.
