Fattoria di Magliano is located in the commune of Magliano in Toscana in Tuscany, Italy. It makes Morellino di Scansano DOCG and IGT Maremma Toscana Rosso IGT red wines.

Background: Founded in 1997 by former shoemaker Agostino Lenci, who immediately began planting vines and building a modern winemaking facility.

Staff: Agronomist Valerio Barbieri. Winemaker Graziana Grassini, alongside consultant Roberto Da Valle.

Estate vineyards: 90 hectares of land in Magliano. In the early 2000s 52 hectares were vineyards planted at a density of 6,400 vines per hectare. Guyot. 2021 Sangiovese and Vermentino account for nearly 80% of production. Syrah and Cabernet Franc are planted, as are Merlot and Petit Verdot, plus Ansonica. | 2021 52 hectares of  vineyards spread over three areas: Colle Sterpeti, the hill where the agritourism and its cellars are found, Vigna Tizzi, and Poggio Bestiale.

Winery: 1,500 square metre cellar. The tasting room and bottling center are located on the top floor above ground, while the vinification and barrel-rooms are underground to maintain ideal ageing conditions.

Maremma Toscana DOC Ansonica, Brissaia: Ansonica in the Tizzi vineyard. Destemmed. Cryomaceration. Pressed. Fermented in steel tanks with temperature control. Clay-limestone. 100-150m. North-south. 6,400 vines per ha. Cordon. 3 months on fine lees. 5,000 bottles.

Red wines

Maremma Toscana DOC Rosso Syrah, Perenzo: 100% Syrah. From Poggio Bestiale and Tizzi vineyards. 6,400 vines/ha. Stainless steel. Ages 12-24 in Allier barrels.

Maremma Toscana DOC Rosso Altizi: 100% Cabernet Franc. 250-300m. On Scheletro. From the Sterpeti, Poggio Bestiale, and Tizzi vineyards. Stainlees steel for fermentation. 12m in Allier barrels.

Maremma Toscana DOC Rosso Poggio Bestiale: 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. 35,000 bottles.

Maremma Toscana DOC Rosso Sinarra: 100% Sangiovese. 6m in concrete eggs. From Poggio Bestiale and Tizzi: 150-250m. North-south.

Morellino di Scansano DOCG, Heba: 95% Sangiovese, 5% Syrah. 6m in concrete eggs. Heba was the ancient Greek name for the town of Magliano used by the Etruscans. The label depicts an Etruscan painting found in the area. | 2010 Lot 110713. Plump, modern, fluffy in Viale Piave 32 on 7 Nov 2012 with Julie and Louise Harrison.
