Fattoria di Basciano is located on a hill on the right bank of the Sieve river in Rùfina, in the Metropolitan City of Florence, Tuscany. The flagship wine is the Chianti Rufina, offered in both basic and reserve versions. Vin Santo del Chianti Rufinà DOC is also made.

Background: The estate has belonged to the Masi family since 1925. It consists of a ‘borghetto’ with an 18th-century watchtower which is now an agritourism. Chianti Rufinà DOCG reds and Vin Santo del Chianti Rufinà DOC sweet wines are made.

Owner: The property is owned by Paolo Masi (son of founder Renzo) together with the family business Casa Vinicola Masi Renzo & Paolo Masi handless grape growing and winemaking. His wife Anna Rita handles sales. There are two sides to the business: estate wines plus a negotiant side under the Renzo Masi name.

Estate vineyards: 35ha. SangioveseCanaiolo nero, Colorino, Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah.

Production: Around 200 thousand bottles per year.
