Famoso | Red wine grape native to Italy. This is not the only Famoso variety in Italy. The other one is the Famoso di Pesaro / Famoso di Rimini.

Where grown | Emilia-Romagna: cultivated for centuries in the Romagna portion of Emilia-Romagna, mainly in the countryside around Cesena (hence the “di Cesena” descriptor still used today by many locals), and throughout most of the Savio River valley.

Viticulture | Famoso is generally characterized by large bunches and berries; it is both vigorous and productive.

Wines | Most Famoso wines are bottled as IGT Ravenna Bianco or Forlì Bianco.

Wine style | Famoso is intensely aromatic. The best are characterized by an obvious aromatic note of rose petals, talcum powder, lychee, and peach, with hints of white pepper.
