Vineyards | 12 hectares (29.7 acres) in Puechabon and neighbouring Aniane in the Terrasses de Larzac. Clay-limestone. 210 metres. 5,000 vines/ha @ 2 metres x 0.80 metres. R110 and R140. Carignan (gobelet), Syrah (cordon de royat), Grenache Noir (cordon de royat). Also PV, Mourvèdre.

Biodynamics | ‘Prepared Horn Manure 500, 502-507 is sprayed on the soil in spring. Horn silica 501 is sprayed before flowering. No Biodynamic compost 502-507,’ I was told by the owners at Millésime Bio 2014.

Certification | 2002 First vintage with full organic certification for roughly 3 hectares. | 2006 Roughly 6 hectares fully organic, and another 6 hectares in conversion. | 2008 The whole estate was fully organic for the first time. | 2011 Full Demeter Biodynamic certification for the first time. 2017 Still certified Biodynamic by Demeter.

Winemaking | The winery was renovated from 2000, and in 2002 the family made their own wine (as opposed to sending the grapes to the co-op). Hand picked. Stainless steel.


Terrasses du Larzac Blanc | 2006 85% Grenache Blanc, 15% Roussanne (oaked). Nice and oily at Millésime Bio 2009. | 2012 Oily but fresh at Millésime Bio 2014.

Coteaux du Languedoc Rouge | 2002 Nice wild fruit, but also some medicinal warmth, jammy, but clean and characterful at Millésime Bio 2004. | 2003 Grenache Noir, Carignan, Syrah. Peppery (Syrah, carbonic maceration of the Carignan?) aromas, jammy middle (Grenache Noir), needs later picking as lacking ripeness.

Terrasses du Larzac Rouge, Les Garrigoles | 2003 A bit peppery to be considered in the top division, but nice soft Grenache Noir-style fruit at Millésime Bio 2006. | 2005 Grenache Noir, Syrah. Decent, soft, but doughnut but OK at Millésime Bio 2009. | 2011 Medicinal at Millésime Bio 2014.
