Domine Anthéa was an organic estate located on Sallès d’Aude, a commune in the Aude department in southern France. The owners have retired. 

Owner: Serge Ziggiotti and his wife Josette. Serge was described by Hilary Wright (2000, p.158) as a ‘sixties wild child’.

Vineyards: 7.5ha of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah in the Languedoc Cru La Clape, on the south-east edge of Minervois. In 2009 Serge told me he had begun grubbing up his vineyards as he was retiring.

Organic certification: 1990 First vintage with full organic status.

Vineyards: 2003 5ha. | 2010 7.5ha.

Winery, winemaking: Hand picked. Cement, stainless steel and enamel vats. No fining.

Wines

Vin de Pays d’Oc Rouge: 2000 Syrah. Mercaptans, very tannic, shame as some undrlying richness (Millésime Bio 2003). | 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon. Burnt, loose, but concentrated (Millésime Bio 2003).
