Crémant d’Alsace AOC dates from 1976 for a traditional method sparkling wine from the Alsace region of northeastern France. The wines are typically made from Pinot Blanc, Auxerrois, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Riesling and Chardonnay (Guide Hachette: 2004, p.130).
