COSTADILA is a winery in a locality (‘frazione’) called Costa di là (whence its name) or ‘hillside over there’ in the township (‘commune’) of Tarzo in the province of Treviso in the Veneto region of Italy. The wines are bottled under the Colli Trevigiani denomination. 

OWNER | The estate was created by Ernesto Cattel in 2006, with partners, one of whom isMauro Lorenzon (owner of Osteria Mascareta in Venice).

VINEYARDS | 7 hectares. South-east facing, on calcareous and clayey soil. Three main plots of vines are varying altitudes (280 metres, 330 metres and 450 metres). The main grape varieties are Glera, Bianchietta and Verdiso.

OTHER CROPS | Fruit trees, olive trees, a vegetable garden dedicated to medicinal herbs and livestock which produce meat and cheese.

ORGANIC CERTIFICATION | Yes.

COLLI TREVIGIANI IGT BIANCO FRIZZANTE 280 SLM | Slm stands for ‘sul livello del mare’, the Italian term for above sea level, in this case from 100% Glera vines at 250-350 metres above sea level

COLLI TREVIGIANI IGT BIANCO FRIZZANTE, 330 SLM | From Glera, Bianchetta, Perera, Verdiso at 250-350 metres above sea level on shallow limestone-clay, marl. South-south east facing. Natural fermentation. No addition of sugar or sulphites and bottled with a yeast deposit (‘col fondo’, or ‘sur lie’ in French). / 2010 11% alcohol.

COLLI TREVIGIANI IGT BIANCO FRIZZANTE, 450 SLM | From 100% Glera at 350-450 metres above sea level. Initially the wine is fermented on skins for around one week.
