Corbières AOC is located in Languedoc-Roussillon and dates from 1985, with the price of entry being a drastic cut in the classified vineyard area (Budd, 2001), from 44,000ha to 19,000. Budd says the region has over 2,240 producers, 38 co-operatives and 301 individual properties.

Terroir: Very varied. Eleven diverse terroirs were defined in 1991, one of which is Boutenac.
