Colli del Trasimeno DOC or Trasimeno DOC is located in Umbria, central Italy and covers dry red, rosé and white wines from the hills around Lake Trasimeno, central Italy’s largest lake. A shallow freshwater lake, Trasimeno is fed by rainfall rather than rivers, Umbria being Italy’s Apennine watershed, near the geographic midpoint of the Italian peninsula. The DOC dates from 1972.
