Château La Mission Haut-Brion is located in Talence in the suburbs of Bordeaux. It falls within the Pessac-Léognan AOC on the left bank of the Bordeaux region.

Owner: The estate was acquired by the owners of its historic rival and immediate neighbour Château Haut-Brion in November 1983.

Vineyards: 1983 20ha in Pessac and Talence. 

Terroir: The The Paris-Madrid railway runs through the vineyard. ‘Good for the drainage,’ (Hugh Johnson: Wine Companion: 1991, p.75). The urban setting is supposed to give an extra degree centigrade (1.8°F) of warmth.
