Château Grand-Abord is an estate in Portets on the left bank of the Bordeaux region (left bank of the river Garonne). It produces Graves AOC wines. The name of Château Grand-Abord is very old. In very early times, the Garonne river flowed close to the property and boats used to make a “grand abordage”.

Owner: Philippe and Marie-France Dugoua. Previously Michel Dugoua. They also owns Château La Vieille France, also in Portets. The vineyard belongs to the same family since 1720.

Vineyards: 26 hectares. The property is planted on a soil of gravels and limestone. The soil is gravely, varying in thickness, which is the result of the Pyrénees having been eroded by the Garonne for the thousands of years.
