Red wines

Chianti DOCG, Santa Caterina: 2000 90% Sangiovese, 10% Canaiolo Nero. Stainless steel and 7 months in barrel.

Chianti dei Colli Fiorentini DOCG Castelvecchio: 2002 90% Sangiovese, 10% Canaiolo Nero. Stainless steel and 12 months in French oak. Lightish colour and a slightly green nose, simple fruit and lacking a bit of flavour and also seems to have been picked too early but in 2002 I suppose you can understand, but a decent wine in the circumstances and also fairly typical of the zone (at Lanciola 18th March 2005).

Chianti dei Colli Fiorentini DOCG Riserva Castelvecchio: 19999 Bottled. | 2001 90% Sangiovese, 10% Canaiolo Nero. Stainless steel and 12 months in French oak. Rubbery, reduced (at Lanciola 18th March 2005).

Toscana Rosso, Il Brecciolino: 2001 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Sangiovese, 10% Colorino. Steel plus 18 months in French oak barrels. A bit dirty (at Lanciola 18th March 2005).

Toscana Rosso, Numero Otto: 2003 100% Canaiolo. Cold maceration. 8m in French oak barrels. Interesting flavour, bit pruney, also some blackcurrants, but sweeter tannins and lower acidity than for Cabernet Sauvignon (Visit 18th March 2005).
