Carmignano is a commune in the province of Prato in the Italian region of Tuscany. It is located about 12.4 miles (20km) west of Florence and about 6.2 miles (10km) southwest of the provincial capital Prato. It is the centre of the Carmignano DOCG wine region. A small town, Carmignano is surrounded by vines and olive trees. Only a single tower remains of its medieval castle. The most important building is the Church of San Michele (portico and cloisters from C16th).
