Blauer Wildbacher is a red wine grape native to the Styria region of Austria. The (Blauer) Wildbacher found in Italy is quite dissimilar having been in Italy for centuries. It is hardy, vigorous and disease resistance.

Where grown: Wildbacher is an authorised variety in Treviso province in the Veneto region, but grows only in countryside around the towns of Pieve di Soligo, Collalto, Breda di Piave, and Vacil di Piave.

Wines: Monovarietal Blauer Wildbacher wines can be made under the IGT Colli Trevigiani.

Wine style: Rich and alcoholic. Ripe dark cherry and plum notes, plus noticeable forest “oor and herbal tones. Smooth tannins.
