Bevagna is a town and commune in the central part of the Italian province of Perugia, in Umbria in central Italy. The centre of the town is walled. Bevagna falls within the coterminous Montefalco DOC and DOCG zones (see below), and is the northernmost commune in the Montefalco region of Umbria, Italy. It lies on the western edge of the flood plain of the Topino river.

Getting there: Bevagna is 15.5 miles (25 km) south-east of Perugia, 5 miles (8 km) west of Foligno, (4.3 miles) 7 km north-north-west of Montefalco, 10 miles (16 km) south of Assisi and 9.3 miles (15 km) north-west of Trevi.

Wine style: Dr Ian d’Agata (Italy’s Native Wine Grape Terroirs: 2019 p.268) says the Sagrantino wines from Bevagna are ‘more floral, gentler’ compared to those from Montefalco itself, and show ‘a very good core of acidity and minerality not found infall Sagrantinos.’
