Asti province (Provincia di Asti) is located in the heart of the Piemonte (Piedmont) region of northern Italy. To the northwest Asti province (‘Astigiano‘) borders on the Metropolitan City of Turin. To the southwest it borders Cuneo province. To the east it borders Alessandria province. To the south it shares a very short border with Savona province in Liguria. This mostly hilly territory stretches across Monferrato and a small area of the Langhe and the Langa Astigiana, and is traversed by the Tanaro River.
