IGT Toscana Rosso, Santa Cristina: 2003 Said to be mainly Sangiovese with a bit of Merlot. A bit bland, tastes a bit grubby, bottle variation too, ranging from soft Sicilian-style to weedy northern Italian when tried in Siena at a restaurant on Friday 3rd Dec 2004 and again in Via San Quirico with Marcel on Monday 6th Dec 2004.
Solaia: Antinori say that the sunniest part of their Tenuta Tignanello hillside is home to the Solaia vineyard, ‘the very best grapes from the very best vineyard…the finest Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese grapes from its namesake vineyard).
