VINEYARDS In the Tuniberg sub-region of Baden. 3 hectares (7.4 acres) of wine grapes. Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay.

BIODYNAMIC PRACTICES The estate makes its own Horn manure 500 and Horn silica 501. A 300-litre capacity wooden barrel is used to stir (dynamize) these two sprays (the barrel can hold 180-litres) and the Equisetum arvense 508 spray preparation which is haevested locally. Other plants used in Biodynamics (wg. stinging nettle, oak bark, yarrow, dandelion, chamomile) are used as plant-based sprays. Biodynamic compost 502-507 is made from cow manure and grape marc.

CERTIFICATION 1985 Klaus Vorgimmler Went organic. 1990 First vintage with full organic certification. 2000 Began using plant-based sprays. 2001 Began using the Biodynamic Preparations with advice from Christian von Wistinghausen. 2007 Joins Demeter. 2008 Full Demeter Biodynamic certification for the first time. 2017 Still Demeter-certified Biodynamic.

OTHER CROPS 1 hectare (2.5 acres) of asparagus (Spargel in German).
