Valdangius is an estate winery and mixed farm in the village of San Marco Montefalco in the western part of the Montefalco region of Umbria, Italy. White wines are made under the Spoleto Trebbiano Spoletino DOC. Red wines are made under the Montefalco Rosso DOC, Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG and Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG Passito

Owner:  Sandra and Danilo Antonelli (siblings). Their great-grandfather Giuseppe Cariani bought the land in the early 1900s to grow food for the family. He was succeeded by his daughter Angela (‘Angelina’) and her husband Fortunato Antonelli. The next generation was Giuseppe and Maria. They were followed in by the current incumbents and siblings, Danilo and Sandra. Danilo preferred to learn to farm from his grandfather Fortunato Antonelli rather than go to school. Danilo re-started winemaking here in 2010 (unofficially) and 2012 officially.

The name: The name Valdangius derives from ‘val’ (Italian for land, or valley), Dan for Danilo, Giu for Giuseppe and S for Sandra.
