Tenuta di Nozzole is located in Greve-in-Chianti in Tuscany’s Chianti Classico DOCG region. As well as red wines, Vin Santo del Chianti Classico DOC is also produced.

Owner: Tenute Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari (Ambrogio Folonari and his son Giovanni).

Staff: Manager: Wiliam Melloni. Oen: Marco Cervellera. Roberto Potentino was consulting oenologist in 2020.

History: The estate, which was purchased by the Folonari family in 1971, dates back to 1300. The villa is 17th century and reflects the Renaissance style of architecture. South-west facing.

Vineyards: 385 hectares of land, of which 90ha of vineyards and 15ha of olive groves. Clay and galestro.

Red wines

Chianti Classico DOCG, Nozzole2017 100% Sangiovese. | 2018 100% Sangiovese. Ferments in steel, omg aged. 100,000 bottles. Light and crunchy (2020 Anteprima).

Chianti Classic DOCG Riserva, La Forra: 2015 100% Sangiovese. | 2016 100% Sangiovese. Sappy, better structure compared to the other wines tasted at this time (2020 Anteprima).

Chianti Classic DOCG Gran Selezione, Giovanni Folonari2015 100% Sangiovese.

Il Pareto, Toscana Rosso IGT: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grown in a vineyard (from two plots with different ages) of the same name on the Nozzole estate, in Greve in Chianti. Altitude: from 330 to 370 metres. | 2017 Aged in French oak. 8-15,000 bottles. A bit sour with dry tannins and herbaceous fruit (2020 Anteprima).
